Full-time opportunity in West Springfield, MA offering a starting salary of $160,000 to $180,000 plus additional tiered production bonus, sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance.

Both hospitals are 25 minutes apart and function as one collaborative specialty network, giving you flexibility while enjoying the support and resources of a larger team. At either site, you will experience a plentiful, diverse, and interesting caseload.

Across our sister sites, Emergency Veterinarians enjoy easy consults, collaboration, and referrals with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Exotics, and Urgent Care. Our ER doctors also regularly perform soft tissue surgeries—with additional surgical training available.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their treatment.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Perform soft tissue emergency surgeries.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Completion of a rotating internship or 2+ years’ experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.
• Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
