Job Summary
Geisinger offers an Emergency Room Technician I position with a $1500 sign-on bonus, starting at $15.76 minimum with potential for increases based on experience, and up to $3 shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Additionally, there's up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse.
Job Duties
- Demonstrates strong ability to meet orientation and full-time scheduling requirements.
- Showcases reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance.
- Displays excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Provides basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Maintains the patient care and unit environment according to policies, procedures, and practices.
- Triage patient care by identifying, observing, and documenting physical needs.
- Reports changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
- Performs procedures such as wound care, splinting, and EKGs.
- Supports multidisciplinary care plans for patients.
- Assists with patient care tasks including rehabilitation, undressing, dressing, lifting, and positioning.
- Coordinates with care providers, patients, and visitors.
- Ensures a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
- Performs unit desk clerk functions as needed.
- Obtains and maintains specimen integrity.
- Performs blood glucose monitoring, urine and stool analysis, and STAT testing.
- Transports patients, medications, and blood products.
- Assists with daily activities for patients.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
- Works in a clinical environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
