Emergency Room Technician I - Days/Evenings

Job Summary

Geisinger offers an Emergency Room Technician I position with a $1500 sign-on bonus, starting at $15.76 minimum with potential for increases based on experience, and up to $3 shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Additionally, there's up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse.

Job Duties

• Demonstrates strong ability to meet orientation and full-time scheduling requirements.
• Showcases reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance.
• Displays excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Provides basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintains the patient care and unit environment according to policies, procedures, and practices.
• Triage patient care by identifying, observing, and documenting physical needs.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
• Performs procedures such as wound care, splinting, and EKGs.
• Supports multidisciplinary care plans for patients.
• Assists with patient care tasks including rehabilitation, undressing, dressing, lifting, and positioning.
• Coordinates with care providers, patients, and visitors.
• Ensures a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
• Performs unit desk clerk functions as needed.
• Obtains and maintains specimen integrity.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring, urine and stool analysis, and STAT testing.
• Transports patients, medications, and blood products.
• Assists with daily activities for patients.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
• Works in a clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
