Emergency Room Technician - Full Time - Days

About the role

The Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) assists licensed nursing staff in providing care to patients in the Emergency Care Center. They support the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff.

Responsibilities

• Supports licensed nursing staff in providing care to patients in the Emergency Care Center.
• Assists in EKG monitoring for the Emergency Care Center.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED required; relevant work experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education may be considered.
• One year hospital or pre-hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Any one of the following certifications/licenses: Certified as a Nursing Assistant by the Texas Department of Health (CNA); Certified Medical Assistant; Certified or Licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); Licensed Paramedic; Completion of U.S. Military Hospital Corpsman training; Experience or education in lieu of certification/license; Nursing student having completed fundamentals of nursing (LVN or RN); Completion of Patient Care Technician program; Graduate of a foreign nursing program with nursing credentials/licensure in country of origin.
• Certified in BLS through the American Heart Association.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Computer skills.
• Successful completion of an EKG competency assessment test.
