Emergency Room (RN) (PRN)

With two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri – a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington and a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre – Parkland provides quality primary and secondary level inpatient and outpatient services to the surrounding area. The Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics, emergency services, and a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology, infusion, wound care, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. The Bonne Terre location is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services such as medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.

About the Role

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• No prior experience required.
• RN license (required).
