Emergency Room Registered Nurse Internal Contract

About the role

Employment Type: Full Time. Shifts Available: Nights (Straight Rate $65.00/hr). Hours: 12hr shifts – 7:00 pm to 7:00am. Location: Southern Regional Medical Center – Riverdale, GA.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly, follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions
• Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries which may involve administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain
• In cases of severe illness or trauma, you may assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions, this can include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care
• Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively. Remain calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events
• Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
  • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.

Pay

Nights: Straight Rate $65.00 per hour.

Schedule

12‑hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am (night shift).
