About the Role
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental, state, and specialty standards. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The role serves as a patient and family advocate, aligning with the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and address patient needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
- Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and healthy habits.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred).
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
- Current RN license in the state(s) of practice and/or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
