About the role
Assists higher-trained personnel in providing effective care. Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other response agency personnel. Supports community service and relationship functions as requested by leadership. Maintains a safe and effective work environment by adhering to infection control standards. Communicates effectively with healthcare team members and other emergency responders. Ensures the ambulance is clean, stocked, and ready for use at all times. Follows established policies, procedures, guidelines, medical protocols, and safety standards. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients. Performs assessments and applies methods of treatment and transport based on medical protocols. Operates the ambulance safely and professionally, obeying traffic rules and regulations. Completes patient care reports, daily checklists, and other required documentation.
Responsibilities
- Absorbs and treats patients to the level of certification
- Maintains a professional and calm presence under critical situations
- Operates a motor vehicle safely and professionally
- Determines patient conditions and assesses pre-existing medical conditions
- Treats life-threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice
- Maintains cleanliness and readiness of the ambulance
- Fulfills emergency and non-emergency call responses
- Performs assessments and applies treatment methods based on medical protocols
- Completes patient care reports, daily checklists, and other required documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients to the level of certification
- Ability to maintain a professional and calm presence under critical situations
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and professional manner
- Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions
- Ability to identify and treat life-threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice
- Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in critical situations
- Knowledge to identify patient acuity levels
- Utilize and adapt to state-of-the-art technology, computer systems, and computer applications
- Effective oral and written communication
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds
- Multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced, high patient volume environment
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Emergency vehicle operations (Preferred)
- Defensive driving (Preferred)
- 5 years of driving passenger vehicles (Preferred)

- 1+ related work experience [Preferred]

Pay
$20.38 - $32.60
