About the Role

As an Emergency Room Nurse at TriStar Bellevue FSER, your voice influences patient care through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager and formal opportunities via hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental, state, and specialty standards.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage).
  • Serve as a patient/family/caregiver advocate while modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve patient needs.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
  • Teach non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and self-management techniques.
  • Prepare patients and families for future self-management.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of ER experience required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • Certifications to be obtained within specified timeframes:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – within 60 days of employment.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – within 30 days of employment.
    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention – within 90 days of employment.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 6 months of employment.
