About the role

Are you the Emergency Room Diversion Clinician we’ve been searching for? In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for helping others while working with our youth! JRI's Children's Friend and Family Services division is committed to assisting families and their children who are dealing with substantial behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. Our mission is to ensure they can access the vital services necessary for them to flourish at home, in school, and within their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Offer a diverse range of community-based services, which include home and community-focused family therapy, in-home therapy, therapeutic training and support services, case management, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and assessments.
  • Be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, collaborating with a BCBA, Family Partner, and Therapeutic Support Specialist to identify the most effective strategies for guiding and assisting clients within the community.
  • Create and implement interventions aimed at enhancing the family's ability to support the youth's functioning both at home and in the community, potentially preventing the need for admission to inpatient hospitals, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, or other treatment environments.
  • Establish a structured, consistent, strength-based therapeutic relationship between the clinician and the youth and their family to address the youth's behavioral health needs, thereby improving the family's capacity to provide effective support that fosters healthy functioning.
  • Deliver culturally competent, trauma-informed, and confidential clinical services, ensuring that the young person's needs are at the forefront of your practice.
  • Offer consultation to collateral parties, including schools and medical service providers.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited college or university required.
  • Clinical licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, LMFT) or able to sit for clinical licensure required. We will help you!
  • Must have clinical experience with children and adolescents required; familiarity with trauma informed models of treatment preferred.
  • Ability to create and implement treatment or service plans that reflect a thorough understanding of the client’s cultural background.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop therapeutic relationships with individuals from various backgrounds, encompassing different racial, ethnic, linguistic, religious, and sexual orientation identities.
  • Open to maintaining a flexible work schedule and participate in an on-call schedule.
  • Proficiency in or the capacity to learn electronic medical record software, along with fundamental computer skills, including the Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to learn the needs of the youth under our care and their families; a willingness to offer a variety of interventions and treatments required by this population.
