About the role

First Onsite is a national emergency response restoration and general contractor specializing in returning compromised property to its pre-loss condition. We restore commercial, multifamily, hospitality, and educational properties from water damage, flood, fire, smoke, and natural disasters. This Temporary Project Supervisor role supports major catastrophic events, with hiring needs determined by business demand.

The Project Supervisor organizes and directs on-site work activities for a team of restoration laborers, ensuring workmanlike completion of assigned tasks within scope, budget, and schedule. This role reports to a Project Manager and is performed in difficult conditions with a variable schedule. It is physically and mentally demanding, with extended periods away from home, and is critical for humanitarian relief efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Report to an assigned Project Manager and handle most day-to-day field operations.
  • Work with the team to achieve scheduled work and direct all project communication through the Project Manager.
  • Manage a crew of approximately 10 or more laborers.
  • Assist with daily planning and activity at the project site.
  • Ensure the quality of work meets industry, Interstate, and owner/client standards.
  • Maintain a daily log of conditions, activities, communications, and notable events.
  • Identify and assist in completing documentation as necessary.
  • Verify and approve work progress and completion.
  • Attend to material needs, types, demands, and availability to perform work.
  • Respond to and address changes on the project; coordinate with the Project Manager on any change of conditions.
  • Attend daily job-site safety meetings.
  • Maintain attention to the safety and protection of property and workers at all times.
  • Report any/all job site accidents to the Health & Safety Officer and Project Manager.
  • Complete administrative duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate daily labor and material needs efficiently.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to adjust work activities due to unavoidable delays.
  • Leadership abilities to motivate and direct a team for high output and quality.
  • Experience with quality control/assurance.
  • Strong time management and self-direction.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs or more.
