About the role

We are seeking a collaborative and driven Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Specialty team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about delivering exceptional care.

Responsibilities

  • Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
  • Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment
  • Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
  • Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
  • Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
  • Monitor and provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Requirements

  • State Registered Veterinary Technician license required
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a veterinary technician program accredited by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVTB)

  • Knowledge of veterinary medicine and emergency protocols

Pay

The role has a hiring range of $18.75-35.00/hr based on experience.

Schedule

  • Tuesday: 10a-8:30p
  • Thursday-Saturday: 12p-10:30p
