We are looking to hire an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator As an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at MercyOne, you will Coordinate and supports the Emergency Preparedness for the Health System. Responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating emergency preparedness activities to ensure organizational readiness for natural, technological, human-caused, and public health emergencies. Assists with compliance related to CMS, The Joint Commission, FEMA, OSHA, and other applicable emergency management standards. Coordinates emergency preparedness training, exercises, emergency operations planning, hazard vulnerability assessments, and response activities in collaboration with organizational leaders and community partners. Serves as a resource for emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and continuity planning activities throughout the Health System.

General Requirements
- FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) certifications 100, 200, 700, 800, and 2200 required (or obtained within established timeframe after hire).
- Valid Driver’s License required must meet Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and be eligible to drive per Iowa/Illinois state laws
- Two (2) to three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in emergency preparedness, emergency management, healthcare safety, or related discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital emergency management requirements and regulatory standards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serviced within three (3) months of hire.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
