Primary Responsibilities
- Must be available for at least one (1) ~60 day rotation OCONUS annually, plus additional training/screening events.
- This position will be available to support Mobile Surgical Resuscitation Team activities to include:
- Provide full-spectrum emergency medicine in austere and limited resource environments
- Perform examinations, making diagnoses and treating or prescribing a course of treatment for patients with routine and emergency conditions
- Consult with patients and customers as the emergency medicine SME
- Work with members of a small team
- Assist a general surgeon and anesthesia provider in the provision of perioperative care
- Conduct and supervise direct patient care, including damage control resuscitation in an austere environment with limited resources
- Plan and conduct Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) missions for ICU level patients
- May function in a leadership position
- Supervise attached medical personnel (Physician Assistants, Nurses, Medics, etc.) as required
- Document care provided and complete medical records in accordance with VIGILINT policy
- Perform special staff functions as required
Requirements
- Active SECRET or higher security clearance
- Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
- Current Board Certification through the American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine
- Current/active civilian practice to maintain clinical currency during non-deployed periods
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience as an Emergency Physician
- Minimum five (5) years U.S. Military or Government Sponsored experience
- U.S. Military or Government Sponsored deployment within the last three (3) years in an austere environment and combat-like conditions
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
- Experience as staff or attending physician in a high volume/high acuity or critical access environment
- Deployment experience in austere and combat-like conditions in Role 1, 2, or 3 facilities
- United States citizen
- Current ACLS, PALS, & BLS training through American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Current and unrestricted DEA license
- Current United States Passport that will not expire within 1-year of employment
- Successful candidates may be invited for an in-person assessment process
- Must be a legal resident of one of the 50 U.S. states; residency in a U.S. territory does not meet this requirement.
Strongly Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in the Military Special Operations Community
- Previous Forward Resuscitation Surgical Team/Forward Surgical Team (FRST/FST) or equivalent deployment experience
- TS/SCI security clearance
