Job Summary
HCA Healthcare is seeking PRN Emergency Medicine Physicians to join their team at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida and its freestanding Emergency Department in Vero Beach.
About the Role
Qualified candidates must be board certified or board eligible through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM).
Candidates must have Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Candidates must have completed an Emergency Medicine Residency and be board certified within 5 years.
Candidates must be available to work 288 hours per year.
Responsibilities
- Cover Vero Beach Freestanding Emergency Department
- Competitive compensation

- 100,000 Emergency Department visits per year
- 42-bed Emergency Department including 5 fast track plus 5 monitored beds
- 3 trauma bays, including 1 pediatric
- 2.0 pph
- 70 hours total of physician coverage (Main Emergency Department and Peds Emergency Department)
- 60 hours of APP coverage
- 26% admission rate
- Comprehensive Stroke facility with bi-plane
- Interventional cardiac cath
- Code ice facility with therapeutic hypothermia capability
- Several dedicated ED glide scopes and ultrasound
- 24-hour inhouse Hospitalist and Intensivists
- No floor code or consult responsibilities
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible through ABEM or AOBEM
