Emergency Medicine Physician

About the Role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a Part-Time Emergency Medicine Physician for a mobile practice based in Wytheville, VA. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Physicians provide bedside wound management in the post-acute care setting, including Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals, utilizing cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities. Training is provided by highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver modern wound management at the bedside in post-acute care facilities
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using proprietary wound-specific EMR

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Virginia
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week (part-time role)

Schedule

• Part-time: minimum of 3 days per week
• Full-time: 4–5 days per week (Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm)
• No call and no weekend clinical responsibilities
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location

Training

• Paid training provided during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship
• Physician-level wound management training and wound fellowship for clinical excellence

Compensation

• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available)
• Full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits
