About the Role
The Emergency Medicine Physician will be responsible for providing emergency care to a volume of 33,000 patients per year at a medium-sized, full-service community hospital in Akron, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage a newly-renovated department with 43 beds including 10 fast-track beds
- Utilize state-of-the-art imaging equipment including lab, x-ray, ultrasound, and CT
- Collaborate with the back-up system at Akron Children’s Hospital for severe cases
- Use Epic EMR system
- Do not write admitting orders or respond to floor codes
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an academic or community setting
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to handle high-volume patient care and stressful situations
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio
- Passing score on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)
