About the Role

The Emergency Medicine Physician will be responsible for providing emergency care to a volume of 33,000 patients per year at a medium-sized, full-service community hospital in Akron, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage a newly-renovated department with 43 beds including 10 fast-track beds
• Utilize state-of-the-art imaging equipment including lab, x-ray, ultrasound, and CT
• Collaborate with the back-up system at Akron Children’s Hospital for severe cases
• Use Epic EMR system
• Do not write admitting orders or respond to floor codes

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an academic or community setting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to handle high-volume patient care and stressful situations

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio
• Passing score on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)
