  • Provide compassionate and professional care to patients experiencing minor to severe illnesses and injuries.
  • Proficiently triage and treat critically ill patients while making vital medical decisions quickly.

$325,000 to $425,000 per year

Qualifications

  • Completion of an emergency medicine residency program
  • Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
  • American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) certified/board eligible
  • DEA license
  • CPR certification
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
  • Team-oriented with the ability to provide personalized patient care
  • Proven track record of delivering superior clinical outcomes
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity emergency environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert emergency medical care in high-pressure situations to patients in Geisinger Community Medical Center’s Emergency Department
  • Participate in providing daily overlapping physician coverage to allow for the best patient care

About Geisinger Community Medical Center

A not-for-profit, 262-bed, full-service hospital, Geisinger Community Medical Center is the region's Level II Trauma Center. It provides emergency department care to 60,000 patients annually. ESPC provides 49 hours of physician coverage and 50 hours of PA-C coverage daily. The Emergency Department uses Epic EMR, and medical scribes are present for all shifts. An on-site Emergency Department Pharmacist is also available.

What are the Duties of an Emergency Physician?

The duties of an emergency room doctor with Emergency Services, P.C. can change from hour to hour with the department’s patient flow. At any given time, ER physicians may be needed to triage patients, stabilize critically ill or injured patients, diagnose medical conditions based on symptoms and test results, treat patients through medications and procedures, and determine the next steps in the patient’s treatment.
