About the role
This role involves providing emergency medical care in a rural hospital setting, responding to all hospital codes, and managing a mixed-acuity patient population with approximately 11,500 annual ED visits. The physician will work in a facility with 6 ED beds, a dedicated triage room, and 24/7 coverage through two 12-hour shifts. The hospital has an established hospitalist program and uses EPIC EMR.
Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality emergency care to diverse patient cases
- Responding to hospital codes and collaborating with hospital staff
- Managing approximately 10% admission rate
- Providing coverage across all hours with a team of ED physicians
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in rural emergency medicine preferred
- Strong clinical skills in emergency care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Comfort with EPIC EMR system
