About the role

Emergency Department – NP/PA APP position at UNC Health Blue Ridge – Morganton and Valdese Emergency Medicine Facilities. The mission is to provide excellent care by using advanced technology to diagnose and treat health concerns before they become serious or life‑threatening. Facilities include a Level 3 Trauma Center in Morganton (≈32,000 annual visits) and a freestanding 24‑hour emergency department in Valdese (≈20,000 annual visits). Combined staffing of 12 physicians and 8 APPs. Epic EMR is used, and comprehensive subspecialty support is available from UNC Health Blue Ridge – Morganton.

Responsibilities

Increases physician's ability to provide patient care services by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising, and/or conducting complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and/or surgeries in the Emergency Medicine setting; independently participate in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of the individual authority granted by the applicable state State Board of Nursing.

Requirements

• Current NC PA/NP license (NPs must be ENP boarded or eligible)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification before starting
• Obtain ATLS after starting (timeline depends on experience)
• Training requirements vary based on experience level

Pay

Pay range: $59.00 – $88.50 per hour. Base compensation is determined within this range based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Additional compensation may include premium pay (shift, on call, etc.), incentive pay for select positions, and opportunity for annual increases based on performance.

30 hours per week; schedule details vary.
