About the role
The Department of Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Milton, a part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) system, is seeking a high energy, experienced Physician Assistant to join our staff of dynamic, highly regarded ED practitioners employed by Longwood Specialty Physicians at its site in Milton, MA.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including physical diagnosis and therapeutic management for patients in the Emergency Department working under the supervision of a licensed physician
- Patient management / physician support in main ED
- Manage Fast Track and BHU patients
Requirements
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant
- Massachusetts state licensure
- MA Board authorization to practice licensure
- American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
- Experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care Center
- Competency in provision of care to patients of all ages
Qualifications
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred but not required
Practice setting
- 40,000 annual ED visits
- 81-bed community hospital located 9 miles south of Boston
- ED offers lifesaving stroke care, cardiac and other illness/injury care and advanced medical technology
- Fast Track service staffed with a physician assistant
- Access to broad range of specialty expertise
- Rapid transport to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for patients requiring advanced care
- 21% admission rate from the ED
