About the role

The Atlantic Training Center, part of AMH, provides a wide range of courses including ACLS, PALS, BLS/CPR, EMT Initial & Continuing Education, ALS Continuing Education, and conducts over 1,000 classes annually with over 20,000 students.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective teaching skills and be responsive to students’ needs and concerns; adapt teaching style to meet the students’ learning needs.
  • Ensure completeness of all associated course/student paperwork in a timely manner, and in compliance with NJ OEMS requirements for EMT training.
  • Adhere to all AMH/AHS policies and educational philosophies and to those of regulating organizations (i.e., AHA, NJ OEMS, NAEMT, etc.).
  • Travel to off-site courses locations within the communities served by AHS as needed.
  • Be punctual and prepared for all assigned courses; conduct self in a pleasant and professional manner always and adhere to the dress code.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students’ progress and outcomes. Report any student issues to Lead/Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Attend EMT Instructor Development Sessions as scheduled, in line with your progress through the EMT Instructor credentialing process.
  • Attend instructor meetings as scheduled and participate in instructor updates as required.
  • Progress through the stages of the New Jersey EMT Instructor credentialing process.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and accountability to assure efficient operations and to provide education that improves patient outcomes throughout the community and region.
  • Work effectively and relate well with others, including supervisors, colleagues, and internal and external customers.
  • Ensure quality customer service is delivered, and that internal and external customers' needs are met.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and maintain constructive working relationships.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, current NJ EMT Certification required, current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Prior educator/instructor experience preferred.
  • Meet NJ Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
