Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) PRN
Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to respond to emergencies and provide treatment to employees who have been injured or become ill due to work-related or personal causes. This position will work with worker's compensation claims and investigations and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure adherence to medical and safety protocols.
About the role
This is a PRN position requiring availability to pick up at least 4 days a month, including at least 1 Saturday a month. The role does not have set hours and will cover shifts for staff on vacation, PTO, or sick days.
Responsibilities
- Provide preventative and emergency medical care to injured or ill people.
- Ensure personal well-being and manage worker's compensation claims.
- Understand basic medical/legal principles and prepare documentation, reports, and records.
- Complete probable cause or post-accident assessments of employees.
- Ensure OSHA, Workers Compensation, and other medically necessary compliance.
- Function within the scope of medical care as defined by protocol and state, regional, and local regulatory agencies.
- Maintain confidential information.
- Assist with incident investigations and required documentation.
- Lead the emergency medical team when called to the production floor or other facility areas.
- Perform other duties as needed or required.
Requirements
- Current and active Indiana EMT Certification.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience as a Certified EMT; experience with worker's compensation cases or in an industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments.
- Commitment to upholding company policies, ethical standards, and safety practices.
- Ability to work well with people at all levels.
Pay
Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, with variation based on prior experience.

This position is located in Delphi, Indiana (6755 W 100 N, Delphi, IN 46923), a short drive from Lafayette, Indiana, and Purdue University.
