Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic

About the role

The Center Medical Specialist is responsible for evaluating donor suitability, performing physical examinations, and building rapport with donors to ensure satisfaction and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess donor health history and conduct physical exams
• Educate donors on health and test results, counseling as needed
• Manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Maintain donor and staff confidentiality
• Assist in employee training and administer hepatitis vaccination programs
• Conduct assessments, provide education, ensure safety, and handle medical situations in a plasma donation environment
• The role requires physical dexterity, good vision, hearing, and the ability to work in a clinical setting with safety protocols

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed/certified as EMT or Paramedic according to state requirements
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Exposure to biological fluids and use of personal protective equipment
