About the role
EMTs respond to calls for emergency medical services and provide patient care as directed.
Responsibilities
- Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location.
- Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
- Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.
- Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
- Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
- Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years of college preferred; graduate of a Program in Discipline required.
- EMT-B license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
