Duties of Position
- Provide transportation and patient care for non-urgent low acuity patients.
- Maintain and operate ambulances and related equipment in accordance with patient needs and public safety.
Required Qualifications
- You are entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit).
- Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
- Must have a high regard for confidentiality and patient safety.
- High school graduation plus an Emergency Medical Technician program/course.
- Must meet all legislated requirements for Emergency Medical Technician in New Brunswick.
- Must be registered, active Emergency Medical Technician with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick; If you are not currently registered in New Brunswick, please visit PANB at www.panb.ca.
- Must have a valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver's Licence (or equivalent).
- Written & Spoken competency in one of the two official languages (English or French) is required and spoken competency in the other official language is preferred.
Additional requirements for your application
- Current Resume and Cover Letter
- A copy of your EMT certificate from a recognized institution
- Proof of current registration with Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to working as an Emergency Medical Technician within the last 12 months
- Proof of valid CPR Level C certification issued in the last 12 months
- Photocopy of front and back of valid Class 4 driver’s license (or equivalent) with minimum one year driving experience
- Driver's abstract; issued within the last 30 days
- Copy of any valid Driver’s course certificate i.e. CEVO, VFIS or NS VSP or equivalent issued within the last three years
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check; issued within the last 30 days
- Immunization Record (Tetanus Tdap) within the last 10 years, 2 MMR vaccines (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) or lab evidenced immunity, 2 Varicella vaccines (Chicken Pox) or lab evidenced immunity, 3 Hepatitis B doses and Lab evidenced immunity, TB Skin Test (2 step) and a 1-step in the last 12 months; if reactive a follow up chest x-ray).
- Please note, a meeting with our Employee Health and Wellness Consultant can be scheduled, to ensure that all vaccinations are up to date by the time an offer is made
