Emergency Medical Technician Advanced (EMT ADV)

Allegiance Mobile Health of Pasadena, TX is seeking compassionate and reliable Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT ADV) to provide essential pre-hospital care and emergency medical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls 24 hours per day, drive a variety of emergency vehicles in all road conditions including inclement weather, dense traffic, and rural off-road settings.
• Read map books and follow written and verbal directions to respond efficiently and safely.
• Follow all departmental, local, and state driving laws, policies, and procedures.
• Use communication equipment to appropriately communicate with dispatchers, EMS crews, first responders, and other organizations according to departmental policies.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness.
• Complete daily vehicle and supply checklists; assist with vehicle re-supply, decontamination, and general readiness tasks.
• Immediately report, in writing, any discrepancies with vehicles, supplies, or equipment.
• Provide direct patient care per Medical Director’s authorization and protocols.
• Demonstrate clinical and physical competency in patient care, including lifting, carrying, transporting, and extricating patients in all settings, sometimes without assistance.
• Interact with multiple outside agencies such as Police Departments, Fire Departments, and First Responder Organizations.
• Provide satisfactory customer service and project professionalism in all contacts.
• Complete patient care reports, billing information, and associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Work under physically and psychologically taxing conditions, including inclement weather, temperature extremes, hazardous environments, loud noises, and high-stress situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including general housekeeping and special projects.
• Successfully pass departmental skills evaluation and complete NEOP process before staffing a truck.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Certified as an EMT in the State of Texas.
• CPR certification.
• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) for 911 areas.
• Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructions in English.
• Previous experience in emergency care preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and insurable.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, balance, and push up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
• Demonstrate flexibility and physical coordination: bend from the waist and touch toes, squat with legs parallel to the ground, and kneel with both knees firmly on the ground.
• Climb 20 sets of stairs without rest within 60 seconds.
• Demonstrate fine manual dexterity for clinical skills (e.g., starting IVs, intubating).
• Correctable vision adequate to read street signs, see in low light, and read small print.
