Emergency Management Trainer

Duties

• Coordinates with the Emergency Manager under the direction of the TL of safety and security to research, assess, recommend and implement changes/improvements in the development and delivery of safety preparedness education / training.
• Educates on technical as well as tactical skills.
• Maintains all equipment and vehicles in a constant state of readiness.
• Provides learning services such as learning plan development, learning materials development, job aids and technical and professional skills training.
• Conducts evaluation of training and other program offerings, recommending and implementing change as appropriate.
• Completes administrative tasks associated with training, including assignment and maintenance of training records, security sign-on, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management or related field or five years’ experience in pre-hospital, hospital and/or emergency management.
• Or, a minimum of two years college preferred preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety and or Post Certified Police Academy.
• Heart Saver certification within 90 Days is required.
• Certification in Basic Incident Command System (ICS100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800) is required within the first year of employment.
• Certification in Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) is preferred.
• Chauffeurs license or ability to obtain valid chauffeur’s driver’s license within 90 Days is required.
• 2004 Federal law Enforcement Act H.R. 218 for Carrying Concealed Firearm, or a Valid CCW Certification is required.
• Must start the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam is required within 120 days.
• Five years of Experience in pre-hospital, hospital and/or emergency management (experience may be substituted for the 4 year college degree).
• Five Years Supervisory/training position preferably in the Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Military Security, Emergency Management, and Federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security) is required.
