Emergency Department Technician I
Overview
The Emergency Department Technician functions as a member of the emergency department patient care team, under supervision of the registered nurse. The emergency department technician I performs basic patient care procedures to provide for the care, comfort, and safety of patients, including, but not limited to, taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, performing ECG's, post-mold application, crutch-walk teaching, spinal immobilization, basic wound care, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Education: High School/GED
- Licenses/Certifications:
- American Heart Associate BLS for healthcare provider CPR Certified
- Nursing Assistant in the State of Work, OR; EMT-B, License in the State of Illinois
- Experience: 6 or more months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
- Communication: Able to communicate effectively in person; by telephone; and computer messaging
- Additional Experience: 6 or more months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients

Pay
Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
Schedule
This is an Hourly position. $2.25/hr. for 3rd shift differential.
