Emergency Department Technician - Emergency Services - Kings Hwy

About the role

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs clinical duties as outlined by departmental competency, supports nursing and hospital administration, accurately documents patient-related tasks, maintains required certifications, and adapts behavior to the specific patient population while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and employer standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care with direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs clinical job duties as outlined by departmental competency.
• Supports nursing and hospital administration by acceptance of established objectives, policies and procedures.
• Accurately documents patient related tasks.
• Maintains professional knowledge and required certifications through growth and development.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Other related duties as required.
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
• Maintains compliance with the employer's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.

Requirements

• Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience Required: None. Preferred: Hospital Experience.
