Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospitals is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to work in our busy Emergency & Critical Care Department. Essential functions & responsibilities
- Triage of critical patients
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient history, treatment estimates, and admitting and discharging of patients
- Restrain animals for examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform venipuncture
- Monitor anesthesia and recover patients post-operatively
- Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas
- Perform basic kennel duties as required
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with Doctors and clients regarding their patients' needs
Schedule
- Day and overnight shifts available
- Overtime and Saturdays may be required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary Technician experience is required
- Licensure is preferred but not required
- Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can effectively deal with them even when they are stressed, ill, or in pain
- Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds, and work on feet most of the day
- Excellent customer service, computer, and phone etiquette skills are required
- Ability to bend, stand, stoop, walk, and stand for an extended period of time
- Required to lift up to forty (40) pounds

Pay
Up to $22-26/hr depending on experience
