Position Overview
The EMDR Therapist provides trauma-informed clinical services to clients participating in our outpatient programs. The primary focus of this role is providing individual therapy utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other evidence-based modalities to support clients experiencing trauma-related and other mental health concerns. This therapist will also facilitate occasional group therapy sessions and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support each client’s treatment goals and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy sessions, utilizing EMDR and other evidence-based approaches when clinically appropriate
- Maintain an individual outpatient caseload focused on trauma-informed treatment
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, and recovery-oriented topics
- Complete intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and level-of-care recommendations as needed
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans based on client progress and clinical needs
- Collaborate with referral sources, families (when appropriate), and internal clinical staff to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with program and regulatory standards
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Required: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
- Completion of a clinically focused internship or practicum
- Experience providing individual therapy in a behavioral health setting
- PREFERRED: EMDR training or certification
- Preferred: Experience working with trauma-related disorders
- Preferred: Experience working in PHP, IOP, or other structured outpatient behavioral health programs
