A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make

We are seeking an experienced EMC Test Technician to join our growing team at a state-of-the-art facility in Plymouth, MI. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of automotive EMC standards and a passion for precision and teamwork.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
  • Perform EMC testing on automotive electronic components and systems in accordance with industry and OEM-specific standards, including FMC 1278, GMW 3097, ECE Regulation 10, ISO 7637, CISPR 25, and ISO 11452.
  • Operate and configure EMC test equipment and instrumentation, utilizing Nexio software for automation and test control.
  • Accurately record and document test data, results, and observations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Analyze test results and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Interface with customer engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure testing objectives are met.
  • Support lab maintenance, equipment calibration, and continuous improvement efforts.

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years minimum of hands-on EMC testing experience in an automotive or electronics lab environment.
  • Strong understanding of EMC standards.
  • Proficiency in Nexio software for test automation and report generation.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, LIN, and associated diagnostic tools, including CANalyzer and CANoe.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to data integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Physical Considerations

  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
  • Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as lab activities are scheduled.
  • Extended periods of computer-based work; sitting, visual.
  • Extended periods of standing with need to stoop, kneel, or stretch and extend to install computer equipment.
  • Ability to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Ability to lift and move test equipment and samples (up to 50 lbs).

Travel Considerations

  • Domestic travel required, estimated up to 5%.

Compensation

  • The base pay for this position is $50,500 to $71,700 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
