Embedded Tutor - Mathematics (PT)

Essential Duties

• Attend assigned class sessions to support students in real-time.
• Provide tutoring during and outside of class hours, including in TCC Tutoring Centers.
• Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring strategies with course content and learning outcomes.
• Facilitate study sessions, review activities, and supplemental instruction in tutoring centers as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year certificate or training from college or technical school proficiency (A or B) in the course in which the tutor is embedded.
• Completed at least one semester at Tulsa Community College.
• Six months experience tutoring or mentoring students in an academic setting.
• Six months experience working in tutoring or learning centers.

Preferred Qualifications

• The International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) or similar tutoring or peer mentor certification.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent education.
• Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
• Six months experience with embedded tutoring, supplemental instruction, or peer-led team learning.
• Demonstrated familiarity with developmental education or learning support services.
