Embedded Software Engineer I
Job Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer I to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of embedded software for our brewers. This is an entry-level role designed for early-career engineers who are eager to build real-world products, grow their technical skills, and learn from experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and enhance embedded software for brewer systems, including implementing new features, modifying algorithms, and supporting firmware integration and system bring-up.
- Perform software verification, validation, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and documentation activities to ensure high-quality, reliable software solutions.
- Apply established software development processes, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust products.
- Leverage Python and other tools for basic automation, testing, and data collection while continuously learning new technologies, tools, and development methodologies.
Total Rewards
- Salary Range: $62,500 - $103,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience included)
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded software
- Proficiency in Python
- Strong learning mindset and good communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with FreeRTOS or embedded Linux, and low-level peripheral driver integration (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO)
- Experience with MCU platforms (e.g. STM32, NXP, ESP32, etc.)
- Experience using lab tools (e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyzer) for debugging
- Experience with consumer electronics or appliance software development
- Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
