Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

This position is for an Embedded Software Engineer specializing in developing secure embedded processing applications within a classified environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ code for embedded systems
• Create low-level software interfacing directly with hardware components and communication protocols such as PCIe, SPI, and I2C
• Configure embedded Linux images, including kernel setup and system bring-up activities
• Support system integration, debugging, and lab testing
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient software delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and deliver both prototype and production systems
• Ensure solutions meet high security, reliability, and performance standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years’ experience or Master’s degree with no experience
• Proficiency in C++ and hardware communication protocols (PCIe, SPI, I2C)
• Experience with embedded Linux image creation and configuration
• Strong debugging skills at the hardware/software interface
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
• Willingness to work in a classified environment
