Embedded Software Engineer

Summary

This role contributes to the creation and optimization of software strategies, with a focus on documentation. The position offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact on client engine and aftertreatment software as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Engage with software programmers, mechatronics, and validation engineers to address engine control challenges.
• Develop and document software strategies for various internal customers.
• Participate in engine lab development activities and collaborate in person through meetings and team huddles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software/mechatronic engineering, or a relevant field is required.
• 2-4 years of industry experience, excluding internships. Master's degree holders must also have 2-4 years of experience.
• Comparable roles include software developer and requirement management.
• Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Solid programming experience in C or C++.
• Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.

Skills

• Proficiency in software development using Matlab and Simulink.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with hardware and software in the loop validation testing.

Pay

$53.00 - $54.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
