About the role

This 12-month contract position is located in Mossville, IL, with quarterly reviews for potential extension. You will join the Hauling & Autonomy Team (L6), focusing on machine-level systems, including system design, hardware integration, and troubleshooting for autonomy and robotics applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop autonomy or robotics systems (e.g., manufacturing robotics, autonomous warehouse/agricultural robots, industrial robotics, on-highway/off-highway autonomous systems).
• Understand robotics/autonomy hardware, including ECUs, IMUs, perception sensors, and harnessing, with relevance to automotive systems.
• Translate customer requirements into functional specifications and system-level implementations.
• Collaborate with the System Integration Team on electronic architecture, sensor integration, and autonomy system production.
• Perform requirement decomposition (20% of role) and support vehicle-level implementation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct trade-off evaluations, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) bench testing, on-machine testing, and data collection activities.
• Assist with new truck builds, triage issues, and resolve system-level problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 2–5 years of experience in autonomy, robotics, or related systems.
