About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

About the role

As the Embedded Product Analytics Project Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team that turns product data into insights to support new product development, continuous product improvement, productivity enhancements, and condition monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing client/project requirements to understand needs and assign tasks.
  • Supports team or collects product and supporting data required for client requests/projects.
  • Analysis of data or development of algorithms using different tools/methods available to provide insights to client or team members.
  • Generating new project ideas to meet business needs.
  • Championing Gen AI across engineering community.
  • Presentation/Communication/Visualization of results and collaborate with client/team members to ensure requirements have been met.

Requirements

  • Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of a specific domain, its current trends, directions, and regulatory considerations; ability to apply domain-specific knowledge to relevant situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Teamwork: Knowledge of the necessity and value of teamwork; experience with; ability to work cooperatively towards shared goals and being supportive of others at all levels.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Proven experience and skillset with data analytics, Python/SQL, AWS cloud computing and ML/AI (Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence).
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • Gen AI experience (top candidates will have this).

Pay

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Schedule

This position requires working onsite five days a week. Relocation is available for this position. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
