Embankment Foreman/ Assistant Superintendent

About the role

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for an Embankment Foreman/Assistant Superintendent on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews consisting of 10–20 employees.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily embankment, grading, and earthwork operations.
• Manage fill placement activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, and project documentation.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, earthwork, embankment construction, or related infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing and supervising crews of 10–20 employees.
• Strong hands-on experience with grading, fill placement, and earthwork operations.
• Knowledge of density testing, moisture content testing, and embankment quality control procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret Proctor reports, gradation reports, and soil testing documentation.
• Experience processing and conditioning fill materials to meet project specifications.
• Experience using TOPCON equipment and layout systems.
• Knowledge of dewatering systems and large-diameter pumping equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.
• Valid driver's license.
