About the role

As an Elite Stylist, you’ll engage with guests, consult on their hair care needs, and deliver quality professional services with an emphasis on their total look. This role supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) by focusing on performance, guest service, and operational compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Meet or exceed sales goals of $1900 average weekly sales and productivity targets by delivering exceptional guest service, contributing to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
- Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
- Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work time, and communicate their benefits to guests.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored retail/service recommendations.
- Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a cohesive, total-store guest experience.
- Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to enhance guest service.
- Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards, including safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
- Follow state board guidelines and established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
- Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
- Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to maintain guest readiness.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned spaces.
- Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and loss prevention best practices.
- Protect company assets through exceptional guest service and operational tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Cosmetology license.
- Previous relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable), or an aptitude to develop these skills.
- Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.
Schedule
- Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Continuous mobility during shift.

- Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
