About the role

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. This role delivers quality professional services, supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), and focuses on performance, guest service, and operational compliance. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales goals of $1,900 average weekly sales and productivity targets by delivering exceptional guest service, contributing to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work time, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored retail/service recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services, adhering to state board guidelines.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and follow loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Cosmetology license.
• Previous relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.
• Flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Continuous mobility during shift.

• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

Pay

The pay range for this position is the higher of $14.81 - $21.40 per hour or services pay for the workweek pursuant to the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay is based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay and tips.
