As an Elite Stylist, you’ll engage with guests, consult on their hair care needs, and deliver quality professional services with an emphasis on their total look. This role supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), focusing on performance, guest service, and operational compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales goals of $1,900 average weekly sales and productivity targets by delivering exceptional guest service, contributing to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work time, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored retail/service recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a well-rounded guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, adhering to state board guidelines.
• Use established service protocols to ensure a consistent guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to maintain guest readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and loss prevention best practices.
• Protect company assets by providing exceptional guest service and executing operational tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Cosmetology license.
• Previous relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Ability to use salon equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

Schedule

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
