• This position is located in Eligibility, Enrollment and Member Service (EEMS) Processing Centers-Midlands, Richland County and is an in-office role (not telecommute or remote).
• We are looking for an Eligibility Specialist II, Team Lead (MAGI) who serves as the front‑line of beneficiary access to the Medicaid program.
• Collects and evaluates documentation from applicants to determine individual and family eligibility for the Medicaid program.
• Ensures the integrity of the Medicaid program by completing all eligibility determinations, reviews, and eligibility changes accurately and timely.
• Meets minimum standards for timely determinations per the Department’s EPSM and serves as a subject matter expert and first‑tier escalation authority for the team.
• Uses various information sources, electronic tools, and Department systems to collect, assemble, evaluate, and act on information from applicants/beneficiaries and third parties for timely eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes of circumstance.
• Follows policies and procedures for application and documentation collection and analysis, gathering additional information for beneficiaries as needed while minimizing burden.
• Performs follow‑up activities efficiently and effectively, using the most appropriate communication method to obtain outstanding information promptly.
