Responsibilities

• Collect demographic information by interviewing consumers, families, guardians, service providers, employers, and various governmental agencies to determine financial liability.
• Complete financial determinations, verify and research insurance information, and enter all insurance benefits online into the department’s billing system to allocate charges to first-party payers, produce bills, and maintain accounts receivable.
• Conduct special studies and surveys to assess the feasibility of offering new services and improving efficiency and economy.
• Gather financial information to determine ability to pay for the cost of care.
• Contact financial institutions, insurance companies, and various governmental agencies and programs to determine and enroll consumers in benefit programs that reimburse for mental health services provided.
• Testify at appeal hearings regarding financial liability.
• Collect and review consumer information to obtain and maintain Medicaid coverage.
• Provide liaison activities with governmental agencies, consumers, providers, parents/guardians, and others regarding reimbursement matters.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience with Medicare Enrollment preferred.
