Elevator Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate the grain elevator for loading, unloading and transferring grain and grain products.
• Assist or lead in all aspects of grain handling, storage, facility/equipment maintenance and elevator operations.
• Handle loading, unloading and transferring of grain and grain products via trucks, barges and rail (locations may vary).
• Perform basic housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
• Assist in basic maintenance activities.
• Comply with all company safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year of grain industry experience.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly controlled quality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safety-conscious environment.
• Some mechanical background, including the ability to recognize signs of operation failure.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with other plant personnel.

Qualifications

• Regular walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 75 pounds, and entering confined spaces.

Pay

USD $15.00/Hr. USD $16.00/Hr.

Schedule

This is a seasonal position not expected to exceed four months' duration, though there is strong potential to convert to year-round employment based on performance and business needs.
