Elementary Teachers

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to student development and a desire to foster a love for learning in young children.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan with an endorsement in the grade level.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.

About the Role

Cole Academy East is Lansing's longest-standing charter school in the state of Michigan and received a charter through Central Michigan University in 1995. The Academy originated as an Early Childhood Center and over the years, gradually became a K-5 Public School.
