About the Role

As a General Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education by motivating students to achieve academic excellence. You will provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community.
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold school values and model mature behavior and good character.
  • Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus, and traveling to other campuses as required.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Pass a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A current teaching certificate from within the state where the position is located.

Physical and Work Environment

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.
  • Local and in-state travel required.
