Elementary Teacher (Grade 5)

Our Mission: The Charter School for Applied Technologies prepares students to attain family-sustaining careers by integrating career exploration and a lifelong learning culture. Founded in 2001, CSAT has grown from a 700-student K-6 school to a campus serving approximately 2,300 students across three buildings (Elementary, Middle, and High Schools) from 19 different school districts throughout Western New York.

About the role

The CSAT teacher is responsible for communicating knowledge to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner using a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources. As a team member, you will share common planning, professional development, curriculum design, and teaching responsibilities. Teachers administer student assessments, communicate with parents about student progress, and plan further instruction. You will reflect on your own practice, act as a coach for team members, and integrate technology into teaching and professional activities.

Responsibilities

• Implement school and district policies and procedures, as well as CSAT school performance standards.
• Collaborate with team members on curriculum and student needs, including curriculum development and implementation.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse student populations.
• Establish and manage student-directed classrooms where students work independently and in groups.
• Develop and use rubrics for instruction and assessment.
• Use technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication, and learn new applications of technology.
• Create and manage a responsive learning environment that fosters safety, creativity, and student development.
• Develop and maintain family-school relationships to support academic and social growth.
• Write, implement, and evaluate your own professional development plans.
• Act as a coach/mentor to other teachers in areas of personal expertise.
• Engage in ongoing communication with parents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education with completed student teaching experiences.
• At least two years of classroom experience with a satisfactory rating.
• Three positive professional recommendations.
• Strong background in classroom instruction and pedagogical skills.
• Experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model.
• Highly organized, independent worker with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Childhood Education Grades 1-6 (3014)
• Early Childhood Education Birth - Grade 2 (3013)

Pay

Competitive salary range: $45,000 – $55,000.

Schedule

Full-time, 10-month position (school year 2026-27). Start date: as soon as possible.
