Responsibilities
- Motivate students to achieve academic excellence.
- Provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math.
- Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Select and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school success.
- Assess changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
- Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
- Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
- Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
- Participate in training and staff meetings.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed.
- Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
- Participate in events outside of normal hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.
Physical And Travel Requirements / Work Environment
- Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
- This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
- This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.
- Local and in-state travel required.
