About the role

The Edgecomb Eddy Elementary School seeks to hire an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher to join their Pre-K – 6 school community. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of early literacy, math, and social emotional development at the primary level. Experience with a school-wide approach to Reading, Writing and Phonics, as well as Math is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Reading, Writing, and Phonics in accordance with the school’s curriculum
• Implement a school-wide approach to Math instruction
• Develop and maintain a positive learning environment for students
• Manage classroom effectively and communicate with parents and colleagues
• Create a strong early childhood learning experience for all students

Requirements

• Appropriate State of Maine Teaching Certification through Maine Department of Education
• Experience with a school-wide approach to Reading, Writing, and Phonics, as well as Math
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A passion for students and the profession of education
• Willingness to work collaboratively with a team

Qualifications

• Two positions are open: one for an Upper Elementary level teacher (positions are currently for 4th and 6th grade)
